In a landscape where an increasing emphasis was being rightly placed on player safety measures, Riddell's perception as a heritage sports protection brand was having issues standing up in the market against competitor brand with a heavier technology focused backing.

Redefine Riddell as a company with not just an incredible history, but a wealth of innovation & forward thinking.

The initial concept for this film came as a concept piece; the team and myself perceived a solution to the issue in the form of an impactful, punchy video piece augmented heavily by CGI, telling the story of a Riddell helmet 'coming online' as it's player progressed through training and a game. We crafted bespoke CGI from the ground up, with me working hands-on with the surrounding digital elements that came to life, as well as the edit, grade, sound & post.

Riddell loved the concept, and commissioned us to work with them on an extended brand film depicting their product roadmap. Working with the team we formalised the script and storyboard, as well as facilitating a series of remotely directed shoots, one of which featured Riddell ambassador and Football legend Peyton Manning, who serves to narrate the film.

From here, we utilised the existing concept imagery, augmenting it and adding where necessary to complete the piece. Likewise on this film, I worked hands-on to animate all motion graphic elements, as well as providing the edit, colour, sound & post.
