Challenge
With a relatively new product that crossed over numerous demographics from kids to robotics enthusiasts, Reach Robotics needed to find an effective path to market, making the most of it's content to engage and reengage audiences with the different facets of the Mekamon product. An engaging, gamified toy on one hand, with a wealth of education, depth & customisation beneath the surface.
Mission
Highlight both the fun and the depth of Mekamon to life with a budget-efficient campaign on social media and VOD.
Solution
The first step in our approach was clarifying the strategy, unifying the fun and gaming with the potential for depth: Serious Fun. Taking this concept, we then extrapolated out into design & artwork, as well as generating our Hero script to tell our story through video.
To maximise the effectiveness of our video assets, we planned the hero video so that it could be easily segmented into a series of small social films, retargeting our different demographics to start with their most hookable segment, before transitioning to the other films to give them a full picture of the product and retain interest.
Directing this project from conception to delivery, I also worked to direct the hero film, as well as providing the edit, post production and motion elements.
