Challenge
Having recently completed a product shoot that had a lot of video content without an immediate use, Riddell approached us to 'retrofit' a brand narrative to this eclectic mix of footage, supplementing it with our own shoot.

Find and tell a compelling brand story from the footage provided!
Solution
As always, we began with the story, taking inspiration from the different shots of players on the field, in the locker room, and in the 'dream world' of smoke. The heroic shots of the smoky figures struck us as the 'heroes' that every athlete aspires to, but what makes them heroes? Strength, of character, and of physical prowess.
From this insight, we set about drawing up our script, setting footage to it and organising supplemental shots to be captured of our younger athlete training.
I personally worked to define the edit, as well as the colour grade and sound, as well as directing the additional shoot and the voiceover session.
